Im Gegensatz zu Scheibenventilen bieten Kugelhähne einen vollen Durchgang für das Medium, bieten dafür aber einen Hohlraum der im geschlossenen Zustand das Medium einschließt.Diese Variante ist gegenüber des normalen Kugelventils schnell und einfach zu demontieren und verfügt zusätzlich über eine Entleerung.
